Innovation Centers

We Design, Develop, and Establish Innovation Centers that Specialize in AI and other Advanced Technologies in the AMENA Region

Building an Extensive Ecosystem

Designing and helping to run Innovation Centers that specialize in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies are the most important offerings of Berkeley-AMENA.

These offerings contribute to the economic diversification of AMENA countries and lay the foundations for their transformation into knowledge-based and innovation-driven economies.

Berkeley-powered Innovation Centers bridge the engineering and entrepreneurship education gap. They provide state-of-the-art training in technology, entrepreneurship, and design (TED) and build an extensive innovation ecosystem to ensure that participants not only learn how to innovate but translate their ingenious ideas into sustainable and high-impact ventures. The Innovation Centers help AMENA intra- and entrepreneurs to augment their innovation capacity, refine and commercialize their products and services, improve their management and marketing skills, and scale their enterprises.

Project Based Training

The curriculum taught at our Innovation Centers is project-based, team-oriented, and hands-on. The centers take experiential learning to a new level by requiring fellows to become interns in local industries to discover real-world challenges and proffer innovative solutions for resolving the problems they have detected by applying emerging technologies. The centers upskill, repurpose, and retool individuals in technical fields to spur technology innovation and enterprise formation.

We design innovation centers and collaborate to run them. Key Features of the Innovation Centers include:
Inspiration Programs

Berkeley-powered inspiration programs provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop new skills through webinars, contests, hackathons, and technology festivals. The program encourages innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and offers mentorship and coaching to help students turn their ideas into reality.

Training Programs

Berkeley-powered certificate workshops and courses involve the provision of state-of-the-art training in applied Artificial Intelligence, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The training programs are hands-on and project-based, addressing real-world problems.

Acceleration Program

The acceleration program establishes a startup factory that spawns original, innovative, and advanced technologies. The accelerator also builds a direct channel to the UC Berkeley and Silicon Valley innovation ecosystems. The program provides mentorship and exposes innovative startups to the global market.

Partners

Berkeley-AMENA has designed and developed the Innovation Centers of the following partners:

The Center for AI and Innovation was designed and established at the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait. The first cohort is receiving training from UC Berkeley professors and instructors in applied artificial intelligence, innovative thinking, and entrepreneurship.
